oh you will have to tell me all about it, I will have to get this done within a year! Right now it is very hard to drive at night and it's always like I need to clean my glasses. The dr. thinks I will be able to go to single lenses or maybe bifocals, right now I have trifocals.

Yes, I know the dirty glasses feeling. :hehe

My current glasses are graduated multifocal. I will need glasses even after the surgery for close up and correcting my vision to visual convergence.

Doe this mean that when you get back you'll be able to see every little error in the stuff we post now?

Hmmmmmmm. I'm gonna hafta be more careful now.

I know, I know, I didn't get the blur or the drop shadow exact, right? Oh wait, never mind. You may not be able to see it yet. I'll take it down before you get back. LOL

Safe trip O and a speedy recovery!

My father had this exact surgery and it was pretty routine.

Best wishes for smooth procedure and a speedy recovery.

I'm home now. I will not be doing a lot of image manipulation nor posting in Gimp Chat until I get my corrective lenses. The surgery went well with little or no pain. Mostly it felt like I had something in my eye for about a day. Nothing unbearable. I'm amazed at how much more vivid colors are and I'm so glad I had it done. Recovery rate is very rapid. My main problem is up close stuff which I'm using over the counter readers for.

Anyway, it's great to have it done. :blind

Glad things went well O. Based on what my Dad went through, I know you will like it. Not sure if you require both your eyes done like he did, but it's been well worth it for him. :)

Welcome back, O!

Good to see you back, since we will all need some recovery and healing time from defending GIMP Chat in your absence! A few scrapes and bruises, but NO fatalities. The server did try to perform a hostile take-over but GnuTux held it off. Did you bring any reinforcements or goodies?

Great news O! Welcome back. I was starting to have abandonment issues but now that you're back, I'm over it.

Thanks everyone for your welcome back!

@Lyle: I had both eyes done.

@mahvin, so glad you weathered the storms and I'm back to do battle with the internet gangs again. Didn't bring any special fighting equipment. I'll just squash anything that comes along.

@Draconian - I'd never abandon you. May have to leave you to your own resources occasionally, but the builds strength in you, yanno.

If anyone has any questions about the surgery or my adventures with it, please let me know. I'm really very happy with the results and there was very little discomfort. The day after surgery there was some minimal scratchiness but I took ibuprofen and it worked very well for that. I have eye drops I'll be using until they're all used up but that's all.

Glad your surgery went well O. OK, now it's gonna be Molly's turn, and hopefully this spring or summer, my turn! I remember how the world shot into focus when I got my first pair of glasses, so I'm anxious to be able to see well again.

my aunt had cataract surgery a few years ago and my mom tells me she will be having it done eventually.

My aunt had no difficulties.
I'm happy to see you are doing well.
