Well finally, the way to do it. I was clicking the refresh button in Scrip-Fu refresh. Wasn't working.

It behaves ever so much better now. I was not getting much out of it.

O you know how restless is David (the Gmic developer :bowdown )

Better use that button often brings almost daily surprises

Interestingly, you don't have to use an actual shape. Put some white squiggly lines or shapes on a black bg and the filter makes a lathed shape of it. The white arrows turned into the shape on the right. I also had a gradient to color the final shape. An edge smoothing selection would be nice in the filter.

Dots of a size 11 circle brush and a chocolate pattern got me these chocolate donuts. It even left a donut hole piece. :pac

Hate that roughness. Gotta be a solution somewhere for that.

Rod, Molly's is fixed now. Thank you for your input. I communicated with her via Yahoo messenger. She's playing with the filter as we speak. :yes

i think you need a almost black texture to get a black wireframe
wireframe took the texture colors

you may with higher precision (but take care, more precision more memory and resource are needed...for my PC with more with more then 50 the pugin usually abort

And you may raise the smoothness

Well the first time I tried the wire frame I ended up with two layers. A texture-colored one and a black one. Don't know how that happened.

maybe gmic doesn't accept a solid color as texture but a very dark one should work
maybe you may get something as this and darken till almost full black

This is the post where I put up the two wire frames I got in layers in one pass of 3d lathing. I use the same settings and still only get one wire frame now.

Hy O
there are several thing that may go wrong, i know because i stumbled on all of them

1 apparently everything is correct but the "shape" bw layer has a border of few transparent pixel at the left...
and that screw up
2 as 1 but more perphidous ...the image convas hide the problem but the layer extend beyond image border, and there hide some problem
and gmic read all the layer not only the part inside the image border
3 there are more (or less) then 2 image as input
4 "Plugin fail to allocate xxxMB of memory."..and so aborted
but the message remain hidden behind some other window...

the shape to rotate should start exactly at left edge of the layer
you should check the Input option (under the preview ) to be sure to have 2 layer as input..no more no less
