thanx PC, I will look for that. What layer did you put your image?

Molly that filter has a lot of quirks , as example the preview may be very different from the result, and a value too high for" precision" can lock or worse move with unexpspected jumps all sliders

Anyway i think to use your own example to explain so i use the jug but from the "wrong" side, that with the handler

now you may see all the layer

1 ) the jug
2 ) the gradient i used for filling
3 ) 2..objects created from this combination

As you may see the white ball on bottom right of the original jug become a ring,
and the handler a sort of protusion on top

I never thought of cutting something in half.

This one I practiced the ancient craft of levitation for the top ring. The little inset is a layer eye view of the background image. It could be used as a candle holder.

Was hoping this would look like wood. It looks more like metal.

i think is the ...hu how is called i have gimp closed now...shineness, reflectivity ?

Well a slider control how much the object reflect the light...usually should be low for wood and higher for metal.

Anyway is nice with that effect and your composition with gnome and trifoils make me laught

I didn't know about the "Max Angle" setting! Awesome effect! (and you thought I was going to say "Sweeeet!") We can make medical images using Gimp and G'MIC! See!

Shades of Gray's Anatomy! Greg, your career is cut out for you. Illustrating a medical textbook!

That perfume bottle is delightful, Molly.

My settings have returned. Don't know what happened but I have Max angle back and all is well.

Image

Don't what I did to make this happen but I think it's pretty. I used the wire setting plus changing others.
