I'm just putting some stuff in here about what I've learned about the wireframe and some settings that make it work for me.

A random shape made with the Paths tool and filled with white on a black bg works fine. (I'm still trying to get a spider web.)

Rendering = Wireframe

Top Input/Output setting = All

Resolution: Start somewhere between 3 and 20 just to see what happens to the mesh in the preview window.

x, y, z angles ... move them

Smoothness ... Interesting things happen to the wire frame when you change it.

Size ... experiment with that.

The final image size is determined by the width and height settings.

I am having a problem -- I think -- with the extrusion option. I am trying to use this on text. It shows up fine in the preview window of g'mic, but when it finishes the extrusion, nothing. My text disappears entirely. The extrusion works on everything else, though. Just not text.

Also, using the lathe option, what appears in the preview window is somewhat different from what is actually lathed. I have noticed that it is as if the Smoothness setting was 10 or 20 tics lower. So what comes out with a smoothness setting of 1.5 is what the preview shows me around 1.3. More or less. It's just different.

Any ideas?

Convert text to shape (many ways to do this; best to have white text on black background, then, just flatten) and I bet your issue will be resolved. :)

It has to be a solid image image on a black background. Text vanishes. I had the same problem.

I am so in awe of David right now. He just keeps cranking out incredible filters that make this all possible.
