Thats cool Drac, didn't use the script similar to your one you posted execpt I used plasma clouds then pixelise, desaturate, posturise then map to palatte and finally I played with the sobel edge detect to get the different height bevels.

I've been playing around with this as my lastest wallpaper on my laptop.
The background pattern I created after watching a TV documentary about Myanmar (Burma) which showed their traditional dress called "longyi" a sarong-like garment. This was one pattern that caught my eye.

I like my PC wallpaper rather bland... In fact I had been using the default Ubuntu wallpaper for the last two years, but then about when I was going to find a new motocycle-oriented wallpaper for my smartphone I was made aware of this guy on flickr who publishes drawings of historic race bikes so I downloaded a bunch and gave them a blueprint look for the phone, and it looked so nice I did the same for the PC:

Didn't do a real lot to get this. Made it from a wattle photo. Quite impressed with the other ones I've seen here

b10h4z4rd: that's so cool! i love the combination of pattern and colours. and i am most definitely going to check up burmese traditional clothing :).
ofnuts: that flickr link was great, i found a ducati like the one my brother used to own, so now i'm making a ducati wallpaper for him :).
sallyanne: i'm a fan of that kind of pattern - reminds me a bit of the ones i used to make in silicon mirror.

As you can see on the link the original drawings are black on white, so I just did:
- "Color-to-alpha" on the white
- Add a bit more contrast on the Alpha channel
- Alpha-lock, and bucket-fill with white
- Add blue layer below
