I have a multi-boot laptop with windows7 and Ubuntu 10.04

I made sure I had room for my linux (windows must be installed first. and usually is)

then installed ubuntu.

I would imagine fedora is just as easy to install, but I would check out the fedora Live CD site (I assume there is one) for the steps just to give yourself confidence.

i've done that, i'm running the live cd right now but i don't really need two OS and want to uninstall windows (it's getting on my last nerve i spend more time fixing it then anything else!!!)

Run the Fedora installation CD on system reboot - it will uninstall Windows, no partition is needed. If you already have a dual-boot system with partition, uninstall Linux and run CD all the same.
I've done that couple of times on my laptops before Oracle came up with Virtual Box machine.
