This piece grew out of an interest in making an evergreen tree in gimp. I made a simple animated rotating brush using RobA's Rotating Brush Assistant script. I then used it to add needles along various paths which became the branches of the tree. Here is the final result:

I made an alternative with a slight difference as well:

The basic tree that was first developed was this:

For anyone interested in how this was done, I am including a zipped file containing the rotating brush and various XCF and PNG image files. The XCF files contain labeled layers and paths. If you have any interest in using the tree for any purposes, please feel free to do so. If you do use it, a link back to this page would be appreciated.

You're welcome molly. Sorry, I don't quite understand the Charlie Brown reference in this case though.
