Not that I think I shall have time to look at a logo at the moment but here is what came to mind when I first read your post.

A jack in a box maybe wearing the theatre mask and coloured with red/black diamonds.

Here is a picture to inspire

Thats more like it molly. Maybe Musical Notes Instead, and a Bold Red Font Colour. And without the drama faces in that position, maybe something else coming out of the box and a stage light shining above the box?

Teamwork is cool...but i believe Logos should be made with vector software like Inkscape.

It is probably too busy now but it is someone else's turn. I get too carried away. :teeth

I posted the XCF below if someone wants to make changes, delete, add etc.

that would be brilliant for a poster, or a program to one of our musicals/shows. But we want less on a logo. Any other attempts would be welcomed ? :D

You can take the XCF, open it in Gimp and click off the layers you don't want and just keep the box with the notes and text, Shrink it to the size you want OR delete it.

ALC59.

That is perfect but if you could get the musical note with the peformer in the colours of black and red that would be perfect. and take away the lights from inside the box.

Hey, guys.

Theatre logos are usually very simple. B&W or duotone like the one down here

why don't we start with something real simple

The one alc did was perfect for what we want to stand for. just minus the lights. and the multicolour nights nd guy, with black nd red colors instead and maybe a circular back ground. like a badge kind of. and the drama faces in coming out the box also I appreciate all this help your doing guys and you guys are lifesavers. I am now a 100% gimp fan.

Not sure how much black/red you want, if you open the xcf and right click on the (e) layer- alpha to selection- and use the blend tool you can make it how you want it

That is exactly how I wanted it. The founder Elizabeth Bialyk thanks you all personally for taking the time.

One last request alc59. and then it will be the logo probably. if you can get rid of the curtains and put the drama faces coming out the box and the background more compact as a circular logo badge with it inside? just a bit smaller. Please i would love you for a life time haha

You really should work with some of these great ideas your self, it's a good way to learn gimp and no one but you can come up with exactly want you like
i myself don't really care for these that much...

alc59: that's great work on all your contributions!
moorhouse: that's a nice logo design - since you have the idea, why don't you try making it yourself? it shouldn't be hard, you can use alc:s readymade background and his jumping figure and notes - then you'd have to draw a box, but tracing your design from the picture with the paths tool is simple. next step would be finding the right font, which can be tricky, but perhaps lemondrop or paek lane at dafont.com.
