Hello everyone!

I can't install GIMP 2.8.4 on my computer. I uninstalled an earlier GIMP version from this computer a long time ago and the directory in Program Files is gone. The installer said to try a new directory name, I tried a few new names and it still fails. Run As Administrator didn't work either.

I attached an image of the error message.

You could try to install Gimp 2.8.4 from my website where you can get the portable version or the regular version. It does not try to uninstall your current installation.

That solved the problem. I used the standard Windows 32-bit version, it installed with no issues.

Don't forget most plugins (for photography) like gmic, ufraw are already installed. So, don't try to reinstall.
