Hi O , you are right, the image is a screenshot of the process to download to keep the episode as a mp4 file to save. The link in the first sentence is "live", just as your (same ) link. I put that image in to show how to save as mp4. If you click on the link as a left click then you stream the tut live and it becomes more difficult to stop and change and go back. I realise you know that but I put that info in for newer members who may not have known that. I apologise for the confusion. There is probably a way to preserve a link in a jpg or other file but I do not know how to do that. BTW the (Ali) tut you started is a very nice tut, I just thought that a more elaborate tut might be of interest to people who completed the original tut.

I am delighted you put that up there. I love Meet the Gimp and that tutorial is a nice way to go on to a more elaborate bowl. I also liked learning to do texture with a bump map of noise.

This is not mt best piece of artwork, but if you flip your bowl design over by 180' in the map object filter and add a little ring then you get a nice Tureen.

Here is a variation on Oregonian's, Make a 3D Bowl tutorial.
Follow Oregonian's steps 1-11,
9. (Change) Options | Map to: Cylinder.
10. (Change) Orientation | Position | x= 0.4, Rotation | z= 45.0.



Experiment with patterns and solid colors.
When you make a change in step 6, don't forget step 7, Select > None.

Very cool lamp, Odin. Now you got me messing around with the tutorial. Don't know what this is but it's kind of cute. The pattern I made is on the right, the result on the left. I'm thinking I should have made the zigs and zags a bit narrower and shallower. Bet the lace brush would look nice.
