Yes it will. Unfortunately it will take a lot of time just to get started :(
I'm currently extremely busy and before I start I want to set up some tools to make development and deployment a it easier.

I've been working on Knotter lately. As of now it's not yet usable (as it won't save or open files ) but I don't think it will take much longer before version 0.9.0.
It will be pretty much like 0.8 feature-wise but has already a few improvements (Including the much requested scrollbars ;)).
Once 0.9.0 is released, you'll see again fast releases until all the requested features are implemented.

I'm still hoping that a knot fill will be added to this version (i.e., you have an arbitrary container such as a circle or triangle and you port that container into Knotter. You then click a button, and a best fit knot pattern fill fills the container. I believe this option's in the works too (last I look it was number 27 on his list; hope he can bump that feature up though; lol). :)

Do you mean to fill with gradients, patterns, or textures?

0.9.0 Will be pretty much like 0.8.0 (I'm rewriting Knotter from scratch).
During following releases (0.9.1 and so on) I'll add support for scripting.
Once scripting is implemented I'll release 1.0.0 and then add some scripts.

lylejk's feature can be implemented as a script so it's possible that I'll add it as part of 0.9.* but that will have to wait
for scripting to be fully functional.

A gradient editor will require some work, so that will have to wait until after 1.0.0,
Using the pre-defined patterns is easy enough so I may add it as part of of the 0.9.* cycle.

Knotter 0.9.0 is almost feature complete. Now it's only missing configuration loading, the little arrows to rotate or scale the selection and a rewrite of the manual.
I guess that in 1 or 2 weeks I should be able to release it.

I have this in plug-ins and can see it in 'tools' but it will not open from there? I have tried a few times just to make sure I clicked on it properly.

I am able to use knotter. From it directly though. I have also done what was advised, can see it in tools>tool from beyond gimp>knotter but it will not open within gimp and it is not giving me any error messages. am hoping someone can tell me why?

@Sally - You need to edit your py file.Use Notepad ++ and edit line #29

You need to edit that line in the python plugin file to the correct path to your executable.(Where you have your Knotter program)

Then restart Gimp.

I'll try to set up a cross-compiling environment. I guess I should be able to compile both for 32 bit and 64 bit. I'll prioritize the 32 bit version since it should run no problem in a 64 bit machine.

Bit slow here. I don't want to mess things up. I don't have notepad++. :(
When I click on the .py file it asks to be opened with notepad Which I haven't done yet (asks for a program to open it with). Should I change the command line in there? I don't see 29 lines of code anywhere.

I've tested it with Qt 4.8 and 5.0.
I'm using Creator 2.6.2 which comes with the Qt SDK 5.0.1.
