Hey, i have a new canon ixus 500 now. It was a present from my wife. :yes
I just play around today with colorkey and pimp up with GIMP. It should be for a smartphone background.
Not a new technique, but i know it works for flowers too. ;)

i especially love the contrast between the grey and the red
would have looked good without the drips, too - imo

I don't see anything either. Maybe the attachments got dropped during the move. I was pretty sure I got all the latest files but maybe not.

Perhaps Chris can re-attach them.

Much better with the drips. Without the drips it's an internet photographic cliché, somewhere between sea at very long exposure to give it a milky or cloudy look, and overdone HDR.

O, that is very cool. I still just use a cheapie digital that doesn't do anything fancy.

I love the graphic! I want to know how to do the background as well as the pic with drips. I know, it's all about design, but maybe a tutorial/mini-tutorial could help get one started. Obviously, I would have to do the colorization on the render using Gimp as I don't have a fancy camera, lol.
p.s. I am still working on getting the watercolor tutorial down pat, but it is incredibly hard to get the right settings for different resolutions of pics. Do you have the pixel count of the original pic you used on that tutorial so I can estimate settings for different resolutions?

chris f: :jumpclap really cool looking picture! must be fun playing with that camera, i couldn't afford one but i did look at them. i have a canon powershot of a model that was on the verge of getting outdated, that way i could get a good canon fairly cheap and canon is the best!
