maybe use the diagonal stripes of your gold text for a slight bumpmapping effect ?

and i think the hearts inside the text could be a bit stronger

The gloss effect is from a script called Plastic-Fu.
I recognize the slanted gradient.

I used Stain and er..."bevel and emboss", I don't have the plastic thingy, but I'll take it if somebody has it. xD

For your text, do you have antialising off for the text tool? the edges look a bit rough/pixely. If so turn it on, you're text will look smoother!

I think I like your idea for the white "blur"-"reflection better, I'm gonna "steal it from you.

I could try and upload both XCF's but not on GC, GC hates my XCFs cause they are always so big!
It'll be a while so yeah, wait patiently! xD
