in that confusion hide also a colony of floating N-dimensional Globins (that you may spot for the yellow eyes and white teeth )

How do you do that twisting? I was sure I'd seen something in G'MIC or MathMap that did that, but can't find it.

the "goblin " chain ? that was MM droste used on the render with "hyperdroste" option

The BG of the second was also with droste but i did 2 different (with "show both poles" ) and i merged down in difference mode

I have a lot of learning to do about that, PhotoComix. At least I have something to go on so I can experiment.

Reminds me of things we did in the 70s, most of which was frowned down upon.

yup...many just ended in some waste bin, and anyway it was as always a lot of garbage, as always find good art end to end in sorting out few gems from a lot of manure. :gaah

Let me try this again: (My post disappeared... again)

I would love to know more about how you created the first image, with the swirls!

@greg

That is very easy because i was so lucky to have this SVG
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... filled.svg

Only the shape filled in black ,but a very good start

then

1
open the SVG chosing the best size

2
get rid out of the BG:
select /clear

3
i want really smooth edges so i grow the selection of 2 pixel then .. of Gaussian blur (about 20px )..again grow the selection and more of gaussian blur (was about 15px)
4
then select again the triple spyral and feather the selection
5
Gradient tool with radial option and full hue gradient (i think is already in gimp )
i stroked from the very center
