pirate541, can you now run ML Bevel Reflect plug-in and copy & paste the output from the command prompt back here?

I would really like to see the entire output you have there. After you run the BR plug-in, see if you copy and paste the full output into a text file and attach the text fie here.

Also, I'm attaching a current, tested and working version of the MLBevelReflect.exe. This plug-in was compiled on Windows7 64bit. If it doesn't work for you, you are problem missing some .dll's, or you have the wrong version of some critical .dll's, and we will need to continue with the troubleshooting until we can determine what you're missing.

Well, still can't get it to compile. How can I use the binary?

nixnine, just copy MLBevelReflect (31.9k) to your plug-ins folder.

What message are you getting when you try to compile?

No idea, I haven't used 2.6 in years. I said it ships with it, not that I use it...

What version of GIMP do you have installed?

I'm thinking you probably need to have 2.8 installed, to get the right output from gimptool.

DD: I have 2.8.10 installed.

GT: I copied it into my plugins folder. Should it work like that?

Here is what I get when I try to compile:
Compile error

Glad to hear you got it working, but there is no GIMP 2.10. GIMP 2.10 will be the next release of GIMP.

Can you post the exact version of the one that IS working and the one that is NOT working. You can find the exact version from the menu: Help/About.

Thanks, pirate541.

nixnine, Yes, you can just copy that file: "MLBevelReflect" to the plug-ins folder and ML Bevel Reflect should appear under Filters/Map/. You can then use the ML Bevel Reflect Logo Script.

On the compile error, it's looking for libm.so, which requires the -lm switch. The attached Makefile should work. Ensure you remove the old Makefile and replace it with the following.

All you need to do is run make in the folder than contains MLBevelReflect.c & Makefile.

If the make completes: two additional files will be generated: MLBevelReflect.o & MLBevelReflect

Then copy "MLBevelReflect" to your plug-ins folder and ML Bevel Reflect should appear under Filters/Map/.

Pirate541, I'm not sure why it doesn't work for you in GIMP 2.8.3, but that version is a bit outdated, in terms of the GIMP 2.8.x maintenance release schedule. It's probably a good idea to go ahead and update your GIMP 2.8.3 to GIMP 2.8.10. There have been several changes and bug fixes since the early releases of GIMP 2.8.x. ;)

By the way, you can thank Graechan for that working Win7_x64 executable. :bigthup

A bit of an experiment using G'MIC Snowflake, MLBevelReflect and Layer Modes.

I found using Save to Channel before you run MLBevelReflect helpful.
