I made one Apple from a uv-sphere and made 6 copys and add 7 different Appletexture.
Rendered with cycle.

The texture in red apples to me seems more like a peach, not sure why. Perhaps the texture in an apple is brighter/glossy, and with some kind of patterns of lines from pole to pole.

Nice render, Lurifax.
I'd suggest to redo materials/texture. Apples look flat, no reflections*.
Add glossy shader, maybe. Regarding UV mapping, best way for close-ups is to use UV unwarp using seams,
then add texture coordinates to diffuse shader.


*Reflection is the property of surface you define (not texture) and in case of apples they can vary like in this render viewtopic.php?f=22&t=7693&hilit=bowl+of+apples

THe plate looks like it's floating. I think it doesn't need a drop shadow.
