sort of make me think of Australia (the handprints) or New Zealand(the warpainted lettering)

while im at it

again, using some weird colours
outer bevel
bumpmapping for texture with noise and with pencil strokes for cracks
adding paint

nice...would be interesting to have the outer glow a different color

what colour would you suggest ?

Not really sure. My first thought is one of the colors in the pic, then I started wondering what could look good and be a total surprise. I the glow could be smaller. I like the looks of a very thin glow. I love the texture of the letters.

esper: cool stuff, brother! i like the bump mapped noise and pencil strokes, that's a good idea. i agree with 2-ton that a colour matched glow would look good - come to think of it, the whole thing might look very good in shocking pink... *rushes off to work full of pink text plans*

Lovely work. The first one looks like it's been sculpted from a lump of clay. Great textures!

esper: hehe "woba jett, headhunter" . i loved that one! it's a really good composition, everything goes together so nicely and the reflections on the chrome text (yep, pc:s blur technique is goof for lots of things!) and the highlights on the edges of the main text make it look so proffessional. what did you use for the texture on the main text?

i like the other ones too, especially the second of the "tech" versions.

hmm, some details got lost completely when i scaled down, but in any case it's text and it's textured and it's pink.

thank you AnMal, i blame my current "frenzy" on discovering Dead Can Dance's 'Children of the sun', which is a free download from their website and probably one of the most beautiful pieces of music i've ever heard

was listening to the song on auto repeat the whole time i worked on the piece

the blur technique on the chrome is really a very cool way of making it look special
cant thank PhotoComix enough for that tutorial, although i was late on picking it up !

the texture is called 'crossing stripes' i think its one of the subtle patterns

i see how you picked up all the details i used, very nice work !
i was wondering what it might be called and i think i will name it fossilized candy
it survived all the millenia quite nicely (and maybe still lickable)
must be the pink frosted stasis field

i would like the background to be more like shimmering glass
you know, more white with a hint of pink for better contrast

....but now that i think of it, maybe that is a picture of an unborn baby-paisley in a hyperspace-womb ?


P:S: your new signature is very nice - i guess you made it with the pack sprites filter ?

esper: thank you! i will post a bigger picture next time i make a text effect - i don't really want to post this one again, i have to try my other ideas now. it's funny, you wanted more white in the background and i tried my best to keep the white away . i didn't really want the glass look, just a soft shimmer. but maybe you're right about an unborn pink paisley .

oh, and there is a bigger version of my sig. i want to have it printed and put it on my new sketch pad. the original size looks much better.
