Wow!! these are all very nice!
One thing that I can never do is make realistic looking text like that and also the paint splatter to look like paint! D:

yes Moko, i found that quite difficult as well, but the secret is really having the right brush
i used an artistic brush

also if you want that aged look, paint on the layer, then add a white layermask and paint with a black grunge brush on it, but make sure the opacity of the brush is reduced
that will give you the effect of worn off paint
if you subtract too much, just paint over it again with white

got that technique from a very long video that Draconian posted some time ago by a guy who designs for videogames i think

for the text i made a texture with multiple colours and then bumpmapped with said 'subtle pattern'
the scratches are just 1px pencil lines bupmapped into the texture
getting the scratches right can be difficult, you have to find the right combination of Angle and/or Ambient
a Depth of 1 or 2 is most of the times enough

paisleys show up, in some form or another, sooner or later...
this has only been scaled down very little.

AnMal, very cool the way you used the bumpmapping on the border to give it a decorative finish !
didnt think of that at all
lots of interesting new things you could do with that

the background texture was made with the G'MIC halftone filter

i used this technique for growing sharp corners:
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6973

unfortunately the piece has my dreaded jaggy edges  but i still like the contrast of the colours
reminds me a bit of Batman

esper: nice job! the jagged edges look like they could be hidden behind some extra strokes.

thanks AnMal

probably, i was thinking about it, but then too lazy to try
i dont like the overall effect that much to go through all the effort

it just seems some fonts are less suited for certain effects, when it comes to jagged edges
