My wife and I celebrated our 6^th wedding anniversary by hiring a pilot to give us an aerial tour of the NC outer banks, near Hatteras. I thought I'd share a couple of the pictures. I need to learn to how to do some re-touching

I have some better ones, with schools of fishes, sharks, and better landscapes - but I'll have to "GIMP out" the plane parts. Next year we may do another tour, over a stretch of ocean famous for shipwrecks.

Great fishing at the outer banks, too. Deep water is not very far from the shore so it's only a quick boat trip to the big fish.

That must have been fun; a day to remember, merrak!

The sixth anniversary is iron. I guess we missed the theme this time around.



Some of the water is so shallow, the fishers can almost walk up to the ferries. I suppose there's a steep drop-off for the boats. After seeing the number of sharks in the area, I'm not sure I'd want to walk out too far into the water.



I like flying . I'd try to get a pilot's license if it weren't so expensive.

It was a 1970 Cessna 172. I'd never been in a small plane before. I was expecting a bumpier ride.

If you've never been in a small plane before the Cessna 172 must have felt like hanging from a string.

A couple years ago my wife and I both went parasailing over the same area. That really was hanging from a string. With that memory still in my mind, the Cessna felt a bit more solid.
