Ello every one. First i would like to thank you and the inkscape forums for helping me learn. I have never used inkscape and gimp before and thanks to you all. i have two beautiful pieces of art to use. I am a mechanical engineering student and a phlebotomist so art is not my strong point. thank you all for your help.

One of the art pieces is a flyer. im not entirely sure what to do with it. I know i am going to hotspot it in gimp to email it to people but other than that i am not sure what else to use it for. I have made her business cards allready. Any ideas of what i can use this flyer type thing for?

oh here is the pic of the flyer and the busines card. The pic in the flyer is my wifes sister and i took the pic. All pics are of my work and my wifes talent in makeup.

One thing you could do is to incorporate those images into the theme on your website. They would look great on there and there would be some continuity from business cards, to the fliers, to the website.

hmm, thats a great idea. ill see how blogger will react to that. haha

sometimes blogger has issues with custome stuff. ill give it a shot.

Is it me or is the model's eye on the flyer a bit blurry, which is strange considering that the lips and the earrings are in focus?

original image the eyes are fine but when microsoft powerpoint or inkscape exports to png or jpg, i have noticed that things blur and literally disappear. its crazy.

o, i have ran into an interesting issue. Im still learning gimp. In photoshop, i can crop an image on its on layer without it affecting the other layers. however, i have noticed in gimp it does not let me do that. IE i have a background layer 1800x1600 with a photo on its own layer that is 1600 tall by 300 wide or so. I am trying to crop the image ITSELF to get that perfect look. But when i apply the crop, it crops the other layer as well. I just want to crop the image on its own layer. how do i do this? i do not want to have to copy the picture onto a new image background, re crop then re paste it.

I figured it out. A we little button in my tool box that says CURENT LAYER ONLY. Who would have thunk??

You could also create a selection then choose Layer>Crop to selection. Glad you're sorted!
