Hello AnMal! The frame I used one of G'MIC, in default mode, no secrets! Just to give an appearance of photography. Glad you liked it, thx!

Hi Molly, I just used the clone tool ( :clone to removing scratches and stains), levels, masks and tried not to let the image too "soft"; no grains, then applied a sharp for that.
Cool that you likes. Thx!

I played around with the contrast and light settings a little. I fear I may have tinkered a bit too much with the RV / Lear Jet setting. I can try sliding it back, if needed.

Thanks

Levels, applying it to just where the image information starts and then applied curves to that setting.

To me old scratches give those antique photos more character. :bigthup
I tried to regain as much cloud detail as i could. :)

Image mainly the "curve" tool but with a slight twist ..

twist was to split grain-type features from a generally smooth but sharp edged picture estimate (.. not entirely successful but no manual masking of the scratch or vignette)

Grain extract was of the "inverse diffusion" versus a "blend median" of three other layers "median blur" "anisotropic blur" and "shock filter".

Tone map differentiates normal-grain as mid-values from dirt/scratch with more extreme values. This however does create some artifacts at real edges unfortunately and does not completely hide the main scratch.

That's awesome Wallace. You can nearly read the logo on the door.
