What is the newest version of GIMP out?

I have the same GIMP 2.8 for over a year and a half so I'm curious what the newest one is by now?
I don't really keep up with it, I just install one and use it forever. :lol

GIMP 2.8.6 is the latest official release.

Some Linux distributions will periodically compile maintenance releases, with fixed bugs, between official releases. For example, Fedora has provided 3 maintenance updates to GIMP 2.8.6, so far.

If you are a Windows user, you can also find maintenance releases (or patches) as described above, perhaps from Partha or Onkel Hatti.

If you're 32-bit Win user - there are daily builds of the latest stable version 2.8.6 here
Last revision is dated 7/30/2013, that is today. Drawoc is part of the gimp development team, downloads are safe and can be trusted.
