I grew up in the 60's and the BG's ruled.

I did this with simple layer effects. (After growing the selection 5px.)
I am not sure if this is what caused the 'stairs'.
Played with the rodillus settings to get the shine.

Nice text sallyanne... I love the Bee Gees too. I watched a 4 hr special of them and their life and what a lot of tragedy they went through.

Thanks he4rty. I just used black text with a firey stroke around it. I got the other effects through layer effects and rodillus.
Am glad you think it looks like marble.

do you have antialias checked on your text-tool ?

also make it bigger !

how do you get marble with Rodilius ?

I don't know how Esper. I just played with the settings. I just tried again and antialising was selected but unfortunately I wont be doing another for a few hours. G'MIC keeps crashing on me.

I had to try again, Don't know why it is a different colour.

Rodilius settings are:-
Amplitude - 8.36, Thickness - 39.38, Sharpness - 300, Orientations - 21, offset - 126.64, Smoothness - 0,
Lighter, Luminance, Full
