Finished this today.
Inspired by the 1982 sci-fi thriller Blade Runner, directed by Ridley Scott and starring Harrison Ford.

Wallace - Nice design but everytime I looked at it there was just something about the pillars that didn't seem right, Today I think I have spotted it. If the light is shinning up through the middle of the column of pillars then the light/shadow of the pillars needs to be reversed.

Reversed?
The shadows are okay, but maybe you mean flipped from left to right and from right to left?
I'll have a look at this. :puzzled
I think this is what you were talking about...

Here is what I was refering to, I just think the shadow and light should be switched because of the light source coming through the middle of the image.

Vanishing points for objects and source of light/shadows - I think that's what he4rty means.

Now I'm not sure what you mean. If I post the XCF file with all the layers, do you think you could create the correct shadow that the pillars/columns?
For that mater any one that wants to try and create the correct shadow can have a go at it.

Thanks for the link K1. :bigthup
It's not difficult for me to understand and I do know some of what 'vanishing points' are, but I sometimes fined myself wondering about where the shadows should go and have even more trouble creating some shadows correctly with Gimp.
I seem to be having issues with the shadow, so... I'm going to post the XCF file of this image and lets see who wants to create the correct shadow for me.

If anyone whats to try and create the correct shadow, here's the link to download the XCF file from drop box... https://www.dropbox.com/s/i8qkrcnea5nmt ... allace.zip

This is not the neatest job and some areas could do with tidying up but what I did was selected the columns layer and then went colour>Info>Smooth Pallete, duplicated layer and turned off original, Then on duplicate, desaturated and inversed colours then went sample colourise and mapped back to original colours using previously created palette.Hope this helps to explain what I have been talking about.

Thanks He4rty for your efforts.
I would've never thought to do it this way. I do see a difference, but it's ever so slight that most wouldn't notice.
I've downloaded your reworked image of the shadows/columns. I'll tighten it up a bit and most likely post to DA, with credit given to you for the work you've done and for pointing out the shadow discrepancies.
Thanks again He4rty. :bigthup

That's so cool of you He4rty, thanks.

If anybody is interested in a documentary about the making of 'Blade Runner', here's the link...
http://viooz.co/movies/13367-dangerous- ... -2007.html
I warn you... it's over 200 minutes long, so I guess it would help if you were very interested in this documentary to sit and watch the entire thing.
I watched it and loved every 214:06 minutes of it. :hehe

And also, here's a link to the full sound track of the movie as well...
