The font size of the text used in the image status bar (picture below) is a bit on the small side. Any way to adjust it? I have managed to open the gtkrc file of the default gimp theme but have been unable to determine whether or not the font size can be adjusted by modifying any of the theme variables located in that file.

Is the font size small for everyone or just me?

Try adding this to gtkrc and restart Gimp


Where "10" is font size and "comic sans ms" is exact name of the font you want.

Alternatively you could just switch to a different theme also.

It worked! For anyone who may need to do this, I had to add the code to the bottom of the file. It seemed to have no effect near the top, I imagine because some of the code below it was modifying the font style/size.

On a side note you can block comment out code in the gtkrc file by adding a hash mark (#) in front of the code you want to block. Just in case you want to keep the old code handy but use newly added code for the time being.
