wooohoooo!!! i've finally got to play with a graphics tablet :)! i'm off visiting erisian and he let me play with his new one. first time i've ever tried one of those and my first attempt at pinting something was disastrous, but this is the first complete painting i've made with it and i'm finally starting to get the hang of it - and having soooo much fun! need to get a graphics tablet myself one day...

I really like it! Hope to see more!

Tablets are great once you get the necessary eye-hand coordination built up. I still have some trouble with it, but at least there's an "undo"

That's a very nice first finished tablet-try, AnMal! It's a lot of fun to work with a tablet, makes a big difference to mouse. :)

A lovely first tablet painting AnMal and I was priveleged to sneak my head round the door from time to time to watch you paint it while making dinner - but are the claws supposed to be that white? :hehe

thank you everyone :)! nice to get all these encouraging comments on my first real try to aint using a tablet - i really want to buy one now, i had so much fun using erisian's.

mokonafan: hehe, i had no idea this deserved words like "epicness", but i'm glad you thought so!
molly: thank you! yes, i painted the background, but i didn't put much effort on it. i saw erisan using some tree leaf brushes in his gimp paint studio that looked fun to play with, so i just did the same thing - and the result came out totally different from his :).
rellik419: thank you :)!
merrak: thank you, i'm glad you want to see more! i strongly suspect i'll buy that graphics tablet... surprisingly enough i didn't think it felt weird at all to draw the lines one place and see the result somewhere else - but maybe that's because i keep the laptop and the tablet rather close.
conbagui: thank you very much, i'm glad you liked it!
griatch: thank you very much, brother :)! i'm hopeless painting with a mouse, i normally use a touchpad and that's a little easier, but you're right that the tablet made a real difference - you get a completely different flow.
yafu: hehe, thanks! let's hope i'll get to see more of that world...
2-ton: oh, thank you sister :)!
he4rty: thank you :)!
sallyanne: thank you :)!
erisian: actually, you did a bit more than sneak your head round the door - you actually took a good long look at it twice and helped me see what needed changing - so thank you for that :)! what do you mean his claws are white - can't you see they're light yellow?! you feeble old man, you should get your eyes checked. nice weather we've been having lately, by the way.

mokonafan: :hi5 girl power!

in all honesty, though - i made the claws too light and i will change it! i'll define the contours a bit better too.

I didn't think I'd made a good decision with buying my first tablet, but now I can't live without it, lol  This is a very nice painting, especially for your first try!

baukjespirit: thank you :)! the first time i used erisian's tablet i put up with it for a few minutes, then i gave up. the second time i took it up i started to think i might be able to get the hang of it - the third time (when i completed the dragon painting) i knew i needed to buy a tablet myself :).
