So i started this for a halloween contest. its not what i would consider finished by any means but as i didnt really give myself the time to just get in with it, i was pushing against the deadline so the result is not particularly great. there is just so much more that i wanted to do with it, i may just finish it off at my leisure. so i'll post updates as i get to them. well enjoy, happy halloween.

I like the composition and the theme here. Couple of things I noticed, and this might just be because you said you didn't detail it yet. The left leg looks awkward. I don't even know how to fix it, it just looks like it's shorter than the right or something. And the blood is too red. Real blood is much darker. But the splatters are good. I like how there's blood everywhere. Like he just ate someone. The clouds in front of the moon came out really good too, I think.

yes the painting is done entirely with gimp though i did render a perspective with blender to get the kitchen area looking right. ( basically placed some cubes on a floor plane to use as a sketch guide.)

the left leg gave me some trouble as did the position of the head, if i had more time i would have just erased them and re painted them in the right position.

the blood is just a big fail, i was something like 20 minutes from the deadline when i started, and ended up using some blood spatter brushed that i got from the internet ages ago. i dont really like using pre made brushes for foreground interest but took the chance as my hand painting attempt was going to take way too long. normally i would take several hours to work on important details like that with dozens of layers. (and there would be more items in the scene for blood to be on, like plates, maybe a microwave, body parts, you know-interesting stuff )

jam: excellent job on the wolfman! i don't know so much about werewolf anatomy, so i'm prepared to buy the pose left leg and all and the pose conveys power and despair, i think, which makes me like it.
i do feel a bit sorry for him though - not only does he have to live with his monthly thirst for blood and get his clothes all torn (maybe this was his first time, though, and he'll remember to remove them before the transformation starts next time?), but he also has to live with an uncomfortably sized kitchen. i don't envy him stooping down over those worktables when he's ripping a victim apart (or for that matter baking a cherry pie)!

lol ok i need to work on getting scale right! i wanted him to be large and imposing but yes the kitchen is supposed to look realistic in scale.
i should practice more, i only ever did one other painting and that was horrible! well the room was horrible i was quite pleased with the actual characters in that previous image. i just really dont understand straight edges and perspective! lol!

Great werewolf! I like the concept and your result! I do think his left arm and leg are a little out of proportion and the blood is a little too light, but other than that: nicely done!

I think it must be his first time transforming and he hasn't quite got it down right yet...

The proportions of the door frame look a little wrong to me - too wide for the height.
Great job, would love to see it re-worked with all the kitchen accessories etc.
