This is a childhood character i made up on my own. i use to draw him a lot as i grew up. he really hasn't changed since i created him years ago. i thought i would share him with everyone tonight. i drew him tonight with gimp. kinda pleased with how he turned out. normally he is drawn in black and white. i never really colored him. so the red is just a random pic of color. i almost wasn't gonna share him. i know he is simple, but i kinda like him. and he has no name. i never got that far with him as far as that went. but i hope others enjoy this. he took longer to draw in gimp than with some of my landscapes to tell you the truth.

I think he is very cute too. maybe we should all think of a cute name for him.
BTW, when you stroked him with the black, did you select him then select to path, then stroke the path, it would be much smoother and less pixelated.

I agree with the above, he is very sweet. I love his expression. I think we should Christen him with a cute name.
BTW, did you try stroking him with a path instead of selection, it would make the outline much smoother and less pixelated, this is just an example of the difference. done with 1 pixel and 2 pixels.

hey molly i used stroke to path on some of him. i hate the pixel look. on his feet i used the ellipse tool and used the scale tool to shape them. i know this is not the best way to do this. i have inkscape on my computer now and thought about re drawing him in inkscape but i have no clue what i am doing in inkscape :hehe :hehe. once i figure that out, i will try and do it. as far as a name for him, i would like to find a name for him. but i really can't think of name that would suit him. i too think he is very cute. so the name would have to be a cute name as well.

thanks for the interest in my little character.

I don't use inkscape, I probably never will. I find all I need right here in Gimp.
Anyway, why don't you ask our group here to pick a name for the little guy and then you can select the one you like. If it is just the feet that are pixelated, you could select him, shrink 1 pixel, then delete. that might clean up the feet, then run your path stroke and see if that helps.

I think he is such a cute little schmoo. But not knowing you all that well, it is hard to come up with a name that is not only cute but would mean something.

*Edgar is good, it does seem to fit him.

rdgracer71: he's instantly likeable, that guy! fun that he's followed you through the years like that.

hmmm.... cute name - i think that's kind of different for a swede because while i like all the names on the list except for irwin i certainly wouldn't say they're cute.

it warms the heart to know so many found interest in my childhood character. i really never thought of ever giving him a name. i mean he was just a cute little guy i enjoyed drawing. i posted this picture on facebook and a friend of mine seen it and said she remembered him. and stated to me she had drawings of him i did years ago. i asked her for copies of them. if she comes through with the copies i will post them here. i think i drew him one time with a indian head dress on. i kinda hope she has this one. i always drew him sitting down. as you see him now. And he always had a smile on his face. And the idea of giving him a name made me think. seeing how he is always so happy , what do you think of the name of "chipper"?

Chipper sounds like a good name. He looks oddly familiar to me; I must be thinking of Kilroy, though.

Like the Character very cute and nicely drawn, I used to make up some characters as well when I was younger, started out copying the characters from comics then moved to applying the different parts to a particular character, i.e. Nose from here, eyes from that one. never went to full body character though.
