What can I do with this photo

I am not sure what to do with this photo. It is the only photo I have of my late parents together and want to print it out to give to my children for Christmas.

Does this look any better to you? I might be able to clean it up further if you like?

I used a combination of level settings and a little bit of unsharp mask. Also scaled horizontally a little.

Needs cropping, but as I say if you'd like me to see if I can clean it up further, please let me know.

Here's an attempt, using the "debanding" filter in gimp, and some tweaks with photoshop elements...

You could try running it through all the G'MIC filters.
