No official Windows build yet. Guess they are pushing hard and maybe that means 2.10x by Christmas.

I know i went to grab 2.8.10 for windows at the FTP site and it wasn't available yet.

When Gimp goes 2.9, undestructive 16bit stable lovelyness-shallala, i am for Once going to drink alcohol to celebrate.

So keep the girls and food out of my way when that time comes, i get little bit too happy when i drink.

For some reason my IE8 is not like the ftp link you provided Pogo, but thanks for the heads up. My browser does like the HTTP link though.

Appears to install and run fine, but it's my work weekend so no real time to play. Just catching up on emails and such and then back to hitting the sack to steal a few more hours before work.

I do have IE11 FB; use XP in a Virtual Machine for sandbox purposes (and even run Sandboxie inside my VM so, in essence, I'm double-sandboxed) and IE8 is the last version of IE supported. Do plan on getting a more modern browser once End of Life support for XP hits us in April. I already took measures to lock down my XP VM (see link below).

No reason to hide your head FB. I don't even use a real-time anti-virus in my VM (do so in Win7 of course though I only very rarely browse native). Playing in a sandbox is the only way to protect your system. Vista (and all OS afterwards) have built in sandbox capabilities but they are are severely limited. No anti-virus will protect you against everything so decided to implement a strategy that works for me and this one's pretty much bullet proof based on my use. The only thing this strategy has a weakess in is the possible installment of a keylogger which, of course, can be used to steal passwords. I do run a programs that try to mitigate this possibility (use to be Threatfire, but this utility has not been updated a over a year; just recently discovered Anti-exploit and giving it a shot for now). Anyway, once you found a protection scheme that works for you, you keep it I say.

I noticed the startup on 2.8.10 is noticably faster than 2.8.8 on my system.
Not on the level of the fast 2.6.x serie, but it's much more tolerable.

No help files? I thought that was included with GIMP-2.8.10 this time around.
Did the pygimp.interp and env files get added this time on install? Or does Python still not work out of the box?
