I wish Blender had this kind of filter to automatically create mesh over a reference image for modeling. IMO it would save time.

The online polygonize filter doesn't have an outline, just uses shades. The Gimp plugin filter always uses an outline. How can I achieve the online effect i.e. no outline with the plugin version?

Set the outline color to transparent

Oh boy... thanks... found the opacity slider for the outline... :yes ;)

It really is an interesting filter!
