I have all reasons to believe that the plugin is not compatible with gimp 2.6's.
I couldn't get it to work in 2.6 also. Works like a charm in 2.8.

Keep up with modern times Wallace, install 2.8.10

:( I thought this might be the issue. Of course I didn't look to see if this was so before installing it.
And yeah I hear you... :hehe
I do have Parth's 2.8.4 portable build. But my 2.6 is like a favorite old pair of jeans, or my good old baseball cap that I've had for decades. I can't find it within me to give it up.
Anyway... If you could make it compatible with 2.6 that would be nice, if not that's okay too.
Is there a portable 2.8.10 out there?

Install standard 2.8.10 on your machine Wallace.
Before you do, back up your .gimp-2.6 user folder with all the treasures. Then reinstall 2.6.11.
This way you're gonna have your fav 2.6 tool and the new version.

:tantrum I know, I know... and I have no logical explanation of why I'm so resistant to this.Image

I know why. Because GIMP-2.6.12 is the last decent running build of GIMP there is/was. :)

You may be right Rod, but I still get the dreaded "Gimp Freeze" from time to time with my 2.6.11, and I have to use windows task manager to shut it down. I once left it running for 2 1/2 days without result.

I have never had a freeze with the newer GIMP-2.6.12.2 though. :)
That was the very last release of the GIMP-2.6 series. Very stable.

I agree, 2.6 has been a workhorse for many for a number of years, however...

The only downside of 2.8 compared to 2.6 is partially broken tablet support.
Everything else in 2.8 is either not worse or surpasses that in 2.6.

2.8's introduce first 64-bit versions of gimp which are faster than 32-bit only 2.6.

To rephrase Mark Twain 'Reports of 2.8 instability have been greatly exaggerated' :)
According to my CrashDump logs, I haven't had 2.8 crash in 6 months, while
some dying plugin would crash not only itself but 2.6 with all unsaved work.
And that would happen on weekly or even daily basis.

Broken tablet support!?, me no like. :(
I use my tablet all the time. I'm actually very apprehensive about installing standard 2.10. Image
I like the Twain reference. :hehe

he-he...
you still think you have to give up 2.6 if you install 2.8

2.8's broken tablet support is not contagious Wallace, 2.6 will not catch its bug (pun intended) :hehe

What are you trying to do!?

I said 'partially broken' Wallace, :hoh
meaning there may or may not be some issues
with pen's pressure sensitivity.

I stand corrected.

For the record... "partially broken" tablet support with 2.8. So that would make it a type of "Greenstick" Fracture, (so to speak) of tablet support for 2.8. :hehe

Considering the fact that 2.8 is in its toddler age, greenstick fracture is an extremely accurate metaphor.

And it should. I've used my tablet with 2.8, but my 2.8 is the portable version.
