i want to do cage transformation on a large file(s).

so i created a cage;

now, every node i move, the whole picture calculates, and it takes 30+ seconds (for each movement)
is there a way to toy with the cage, and only render at the end?

I've always found this behaviour with the cage tool to be annoying but apparently it's is just the way the tool works. Found this http://docs.gimp.org/en/gimp-tool-cage.html which confirms that there's no other way to use the cage tool.

It sucks Caz. @keshef, would you have any better luck with the warp tool?

I've also found the "cage tool", to be very slow, especially when used on large images.
This is something that I hope might be improved.
It does however preform very well on small images, and that's how I've been using it.

I am most unhappy. When I use cage tool the GIMP crashs: runtime error.
I've reported it here in GIMPchat but no one was able to understand the problem and therefore the solution is not found.

Doesn't switching to "Create or adjust the cage" in the Tool Options allow that?

1) i didn't know about tool-presets :-o

2) even after applying this file, i have only 3 options (for cage transformations)

(tested both for gimp 2.8.10 and 2.9 nightly build)
