I was just experimenting,
used the select by color tool and clicked on the gold part, so it selected all the gold, I just opened my patterns and looked through it and dragged one over into the selection. After I did that I hit another part of the text and selected another color and dragged another pattern over. I did this until I ran out of colors to select.
I then right clicked the whole text and went alpha to selection and then under the selection tab I selected to path, then select NONE.
When into paths tab and right clicked the stroke button at the bottom of the dialogue and selected stroke with pattern, then picked the stroke width which was 6 on this one and it will stroke with whatever pattern you have selected. nothing very hard, just a whim.

Hey that is cool, it works good in some of the thick flat text with lots of edges too.

I should go find some of the square ones and also make some of my own…except I forgot how, lol. There is a script for that, right?

2-ton, I open an image, then go to filters - render -environment Map and apply a gradient and you get the square environment map. Is that what you want to get?

As long as it works for an environment map, then yes.

IIRC, we were using square ones before I started seeing the sphere ones on an earlier tutorial.
