The script produces two layers. In my case "layer 3" and "layer 3 copy" - the first is the shadow.

After done the silhoutte text tut and preserved a copy of the text (or shape) layer, usually I do this:

Select the layer copied:
Filters → Kward1976 → glass and set these values:

and your result must be like this (in the example, Debian logo)

If you want to play with lights then apply curves as follow (like in Silhoutte text tut)

The last step is Colorize this layer:
