Hi,

How sweet to have a simple tools lay-out in GIMP that could detached, positioned and even flipped.

The original position of the tools is right below the menu bar.

:gaah :bump

Very clever. I have never been able to get that thin tool bar. How do you do it?

Sorry Sallyanne, it's a fantasy.

Of course yes.

You might be right if you're referring to GIMP's native multiple windows as in the attached screenshort.

All you do is to close all other dockable dialogs under the tools, then under "windows" in the menu bar on top of GIMP uncheck the button that says "single-window mode". After that you will have multiple windows, just need to resize your tools dialog and resize it as you desire.

Done.

However, its not possible if you need a floating tools box or brush dialog in single-window mode.
