Release of G'MIC 1.5.9.0

Hi there,

I'm very happy to announce the availability of a major new version (numbered 1.5.9.0) of the G'MIC image processing framework !

We have been working hard to provide a powerful and open-source image processing framework targeted for different user profiles, through its different interfaces (plug-in, web-service, CLI,...), so please, please, if you appreciate what we are doing, make some noise about it

Compiled from GIT using the right .sh file and it still reports my version as 1.5.9 beta David; not sure why.

Lyle, it appears that Samj has compiled the 1.5.9.0 version for Win64 too. I've just put it on the official download page

Lyle I also compiled when it was first posted and mine did not come out Beta

I used compile_gmic_gimp_plugin_64_win.sh
not compile_gmic_gimp_plugin_beta_64_win.sh

I might have used the beta.sh file by accident (though I do not believe I did). I'll try again later. Samj's compiles are the gold standard. Just want to compile on my own to keep that feather in my cap for my own reasons. lol

I was thinking I read that GIMP had abandoned using source forge for their downloads because of them loading other things along with the the downloads. Is there any other source for the latest version?

Funny; I downloaded gmic_gimp_win64.zip from Sourceforge and it still shows up as gmic 1.5.9 beta. Something's amiss somewhere. I guess I will have to wait until 1.5.9.1 to see if a new version removes the beta in the gmic name.

All I did was replace the gmic application file and when I reopened gimp and started gmic, it poped up as 1.5.9.0 for Windows 64 bit.

I suspect a registry issue with GIMP somehow causing this Mackenziah; maybe I need to delete a setup file or something. I'll just wait until G'MIC's next update and that would probably clear up my dilemma. Despite stating beta, G'MIC itself works fine.

OK; tried one more thing; I removed the G'MIC plugin, ran GIMP (of course G'MIC's now gone), closed GIMP and copied the plugin back into GIMP and ran GIMP again, and now G'MIC reports normal. Very strange. I thought the naming was controlled by the plugin itself but some how GIMP apparently was influencing the name of the name of the plugin.

Will there be a day a standalone version of G'MIC with the graphical interface (i mean not command line based) similar to the window panel we have when using G'MIC in Gimp or using the online version of G'MIC ?
