Carlos I haven't done this yet but most of these things are presets.
2. Abilene font...If you don't have it check on the net and download it to you fonts folder.
3. alpha to logo>chip away w/o bkg...This is a preset in Filters alpha to logo 'Chip Away' or create logos. You just need to make it without a background. If it has a white background when finished just color to alpha it to make the background transparent.
4. beautify, rip border, textures border....These borders are in the beautify filter which you have to download if you haven't already.

I dont have the borders (Probably need to download them myself) and used a different gradient but did this

ps. I had to play around with the gradient a bit to see how Marcello did it. It is from the bottom up of a 640 by 480 template. Also I used a font I already had.

FIRST PART

1. open picture VERSO ESCALANTE

2.with the filter Gmic>rendering>gradient(from line) I built a new gradient from my picture VERSO ESCALANTE in this way:
select with rectangle tool only the top rock tower ( no sky no bushes)
Before to give the OK you need to give a name at the SAVE GRADIENT AS ( my was Escalante) click update and OK
Go to gradient area , right click and click refresh gradients

3. Click the gradient tool , choose the Escalante gradient and in the tool options shape input choose CONICAL(SYM)

4. Open a new layer, put the cursor at the middle of the bottom and go up vertical to the top
( you now have the base)

base layer

1.on the base layer (see part one) write with the( see attached zip file) ABILENE font " Escalante"
to avoid the rectangle area I have to create a new trasparent layer and merge the layer with the text (somebody can tell me better solution?)

2. right click and alpha to select; Filters>alpha to logo>chip away (untick
keep background little square); merge visible layers

3. Filters>Beautify>Border>Rip Border
in the border color input (left top of the screen) left click and input 38 20 0c
in the top right choose Border and click the second fron left of the first row
OK
