Hey everyone!

It' s been quite a while since I posted here. I study communication design now and have to admit that I do alot of my stuff in Photoshop, but I still love GIMP :)

This is the project I' ve been working on recently. I' m creating letters by taking photos with an exposure of 4-5 seconds in the dark and drawing them with a flashlight. These are the ones I' ve done so far with some made up words to see how they would work in a text structure.

I also started making something like an ad for it, taking a photo of a passing car in the dark. The poster is still a WIP, especially placing the text is causing problems. I' m thinking of just ditching it completely too. Feel free to give some advice :)

Very nice. My friends did this once. They went to a nearby covered bridge, put a flashlight on the end of a stick, and traced the outline of the structure best they could. It didn't turn out perfect, but it was still cool.

Thanks, I took the shot of the car on saturday night. Originally I only wanted to go out and take the photos I needed, but it turned out to be so much fun that I walked around town with the camera and tripod for atleast 2 hours:D

the letters look really cool !
i like the graffiti effect you get from the light-calligraphy

the poster idea for the passing car is great as well
i would do the lights coloured and the rest b/w

reminds me of the biker scene from Akira, which is still awesome !

Thanks for the feedback:) Below is the original photo. I' d rather keep it all B/W, as you see the lights are pretty much white in the original anyway. I' m now changing the format of the poster by making it longer in the vertical and placing the text below the motive. I noticed that I just can' t place it within because it just gets too distracting.
