I promised to be back.
Installed samj 's 7zip file in VirtualBox and isolated the "source" files.
These are not the originals:I noticed object files in them.
Fortunately by using "make distclean" one can restore them.
This worked fine for babl and gegl,compiled and installed them no problem.
Then gimp:impossible,a Makefile that was empty,no autogen.sh and no configure.ac.
When you say sources included pls include the complete originals.
