hey guys. today i was gonna make a custom football field for my team on a website i had found. the end zones need to be rotated 180 degrees. so i worked on the north end zone, finished and saved it, and then rotated it 180 degrees and was gonna save it until i noticed that the image keeps coming up out of alignment once i rotate it. i have no clue what is causing this. so frustrating...

1st image came out fine(top image below)
2nd image (bottom image below--rotated 180 degrees) comes out NOT in alignment....

create guides at the beginning and the end of your text
then align the rotated text with your move tool according to the guides you just made

Unless you text is perfectly centered, the rotation won't produce perfectly aligned ends, so do as Esper says.

But shouldn't that be spelled "Tennessee"?

and: do you really want a rotated (180°) or a reflected one?

I took your original, cut according the guide to have the same space to the left and to the right,
first below is the rotated one, and second below is the reflected one

is this what you look for?

yes, thats what the alignment tool is for !

also its a good idea to stroke a path, not the selection, to avoid jaggy edges on your stroke
will look much better !

no, it must be rotated not flipped.

here's your first image rotated 180 in version 2.8 (I just flipped it horizontally then flipped it vertically, the same as rotating 180)

my bad, i think alignment was a bad word to use. if you look closely at the bottom image, and look at the white line around the edge you will see its not straight. you will see it's off set. it is perfect until you hit the word "rotate" from the drop down window that appears when you use the rotate tool, then click image.

Use Image->Transform->Flip Horizontally
then Image->Transform->Flip Vertically
to see if you can work around the bug (i am assuming after you correct your spelling of double S)

theres an artifact on the border, yes

rotate the text without the bg

that means you have the text, the stroke and the bg, each on its own layer and not merged down yet

as an alternative use the flip tool, just as trandoductin told you

I was so curious about this bug. So I downloaded 2.6 and tried for myself to see.

So if you use the rotate tool then this bug will occur.

If you use Image->Transform->Rotate 180, the bug will not occur
OR if you use Image->Transform->Flip Horizontally then Image->Transform->Flip Vertically, the bug will not occur


is there a reason for why the letter S seems to be larger than the rest of the letters? Your S seems to be peaking 1 pixel above and dipping 1 pixel below every other letter.

The 90° and 180° rotations don't use interpolation. They copy pixel-for pixel, so no degradation occurs.

In many fonts the letters that have a circle arc on a horizontal will go a bit beyond the line for balance.

A monospaced typeface might be worth a go.

is there a specific reason, why you think this kind of font would be better, Odin ?

rdgracer71 wants to rotate the text and I just think a monospaced typeface would work better symmetrical.
