uh oh, my wheel doesn't work, I have needed a new mouse for a while. Otherwise, it works really well! I was thinking that if a gradient was wanted, it wouldn't be too hard to do, just use the select by color tool and use gradient on several polygons at a time.

if your wheel doens't work you can manually zoom-in by going to menu item
View -> Zoom In

Ok, I finally got one that I am willing to post, lol. I can't remember if I did polygonizer of triangulator, it's the automatic one, but you can add more points to it. It seems to matter what photo you use, some work better than others. Also, how do you, say, isolate a small selection to do separately, such as the eyes, for greater detail. This is a fairly high resolution photo of an Australian singer/stage actor, Michael Falzon.

You are allowed to replace and update your own scripts.

Just to clarify, members are encouraged to keep their attachments updated, be they scripts, plug-ins, tutorials, links or whatever. Matter of fact, threads which contain posts with multiple outdated versions of scripts/plug-ins are periodically edited by the staff, with the older/outdated versions removed. There might be exceptions if there is some reason to maintain the older versions, such as lost functionality/support with the newer version.

As far as content/images are concerned, posts/threads with missing images, links or other critical content will be edited or removed, in order to maintain the integrity of the thread.

Hmmm, now as I think back, I think I did the graphic with Dmesh. I have all 3 polygon programs and Dmesh works pretty good. The best control would be with polygonizer but I needed more practice on how things should look. Dmesh is semiautomatic…it triangulates automatically but then allows you to add more points to work toward what you want it to look like. What I find annoying in Dmesh and triangulator is that when you clear the points in order to see what it looks like, especially in small areas of detail, it un-polygonizes the whole thing. In polygonizer you can clear the points and keep what you have done already so you can keep on going.

After you mentioned Dmesh I had to try it out and I find it too much like triangulator, not enough control over shapes. It does have a nice fancy user interface.

yes, having anything automatic seems to have it's bad points, like control. My problem is where to have the points. I want to be able to make a face look like a face, like your avi…or at least have the person recognizable for the most part. D-mesh is interesting in that the interface is somewhat self explanatory.

To do a face like mine, it's done in polygon(izer) app (the code i altered).

For details like eyes,eyebrows,nose,mouth I try to draw shapes that combine to generally share the same edges as the reference image. Then for surfaces that are directly facing you like cheeks and forehead and neck i try to draw larger polygons but as the surface is no longer facing you like below the chin, and around the edges of face shape i try to do polygons that are thinner aligning with the face contour to give you effect that they are not directly facing you to simulate 3D look.
