This is concept box art for an upcoming hard sci-fi board game named Interplanetary.

Painted in Krita with some adjustments in GIMP. Feedback is appreciated as always!

Very cool. I love space art. :paint2

Is that a meteorite striking the tower on that ship?

It is very realistic looking, it sort of makes me feel that lonely feeling I imagine I would feel if I was in space.

Thanks for the comments, people! This is a concept image, it's on a prototype board game box at the moment, will probably refine it a bit further for the final thing (I think notably the planet needs some more detail). :)
I'll try to relay some more photos once it goes into (on-demand) print.

It could be, but in this case the source of the collider is intended to be that bright "star" in the distance (an enemy space ship, supposedly).

It's surprisingly hard to convey space artwork while keeping reasonably realistic - space is mainly big and black after all. Planets are useful in this respect. But I too imagine space must incur a very lonely feeling to those that cross it.

Wow! That seems a photograph! :bump
The UFO in orbit is so real, and the planet was fantastic.
Perhaps the background could be a little less blueish. But may be caused by the reflection of the planet.
Another work of art! :paint :clap

Griatch,
When I saw this twitter, I remembered this post.

But I can not insert it here.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>I will never tire of this view. <a href="http://t.co/le1yPjeTkC">pic.twitter.com/le1yPjeTkC</a></p>&mdash; Reid Wiseman (@astro_reid) <a href="https://twitter.com/astro_reid/statuses/479774752597221376">June 19, 2014</a></blockquote>

But the picture is this: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BqiAmACCMAEGwaY.jpg

A pretty picture you link there! I was indeed inspired by ISS pictures of the Earth when drawing the background planet. I will probably refine it further once the game comes closer to production.
