not because it's the 4th of July, but because they celebrate the date
it looks like only USA-members are patriots
when will we see -from chatters of other nations- a similar celebration?
many nations do have important dates, but their members are more prone to forget those days
everyone should learn from USA-patriots !

In my opinion in GIMP 95% is skill 5% lucky instead in Apophysis 50% skill and 50% lucky!!! one suggestion use scripts that you can upload otherwise will be difficult!

*the broadcast of the Washington DC celebration is really quite a show! Tons of fireworks choreographed to all sorts of music, currently it's all patriotic music and it's quite moving to watch.

Italy does not have per se an independance Day.We celebrate on June second the day Italy became a Republic (Festa della Repubblica) and then Liberation Day,April 25th when the Nazis left Italy(Festa della Liberazione)
Of course,June 2nd is an official day off and parade (Military,Medieval,concerts,etc) and celebrations are customs all over the Country.
And yes! I am proud of my Country

I personally would prefer the 17th of March
