Make a heart shape with silhouettes

Operating System: Windows
GIMP Experience: Beginner Level

Hi, I am painting a silhouette of my Niece and her husband-to-be on a glass block. I have gotten the silhouette of their faces done, but i am wondering how to go about using gimp to transform their two faces into a heart shape. Any suggestions?

I think a little more information may be helpful. Are the silhouettes facing each other or looking forward. Do you want them in a heart or do you want the silhouettes to make up the heart shape?

Hi Oregonian....The image you included is pretty close to what i was wanting. The silhouette's i have done are facing each other. Their lips are not as open as the ones in the image, so i don't know how it would look for me to make them be kissing. Although i like that idea. The main thing i am trying to figure out is has to do it in a heart shape. I am including an image of the silhouette that i have done so far on gimp. Haven't actually painted anything yet. Also, I am wanting to leave the heart transparent because i am going to put lights inside the glass block so that the heart will be transparent and the silhouette's will stand out more. I am open to some other ideas of how to do this as well...I just am afraid the heart will be too plain. Any ideas on how to make it more striking?

Here is something similar to what you have. The bottoms of your silhouettes are blocky. The way they drew them down in this heart is pretty.

I don't know how familiar you are with fonts, but there are a lot of very nice heart dingbats that would make it easy to do a heart and fit your silhouettes within it. This link takes you to valentine fonts in daFont: http://www.dafont.com/theme.php?cat=801

nice work on silhouettes and hart,
i have two from my emaps, you might look at
shapes made with simple, Apophysis program
copied into gimp then colored.

I'm no expert on love (ask my wife) but it might look good with small hearts etched into the glass since you mentioned you're backlighting it.
