Masks

GIMP Version: 2.8.10
Operating System: Windows
OS Version: 7 Home Premium
GIMP Experience: Beginner Level

List any relevant plug-ins or scripts:
NA

The only mask I know how to work with is the foreground select.

I still don't know what masks are or how to use them after 10 years of using gimp. I hear about them being used a lot and know a few things I do will be easier if I did. Is there a tutorial about masks here?

Pat David's tutorials are great. He does an excellent job of explaining Gimp from a photographers point of view.

I just bookmarked his gimp page after reading his masks tut. Thanx odin
