Seems the warranty ran out on my computer April 2013. Only a year after I got it
It is a Toshiba Satellite
My operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium

After deleting stuff and doing another restore I am getting this error all the time now for different programs.
'The ordinal 572 could not be located in the dynamic link library ietuil.dll'
Now I cannot even turn the error off.
Tried to run Spybot this evening , it came up and would not go away. Pops up with many programs.
Have I restored too many times? I look for it in the recycle bin and computer/C drive and could not find it.
I have looked online and warned against downloading another.

Oh also, since the restore a few of my programs that I have had longer than the restore date are not working now.

I am sure one of the great techies here will be able to help you. I looked it up and see it isn't a common issue. Here is one of the sites I looked in.

Have you tried to do a disk Error Check?
Disk Error Checking can identify and automatically correct file system errors and make sure that you can continue to load and write data from the hard disk.
You can find this utility by right clicking your C drive>properties>Tools



You may also want to run your windows Disk Cleanup before running the Error Check. After ward try to run whatever utilities you have such as CCleaner to remove any junk files, as well as running any malware removing software you may have.

sallyanne, I sympathize with you. Can't add much more than Wallace and conbagui but would heed the suggestions. I just spent four days trying to get my daughter's laptop to work again - she too has Windows 7 Home Premium. In her case nothing worked had to go into safe mode and cmd prompts - it probably was an update that ruined things.

Have you tried running SFC (System File Checker)? It's a utility included in Windows that checks and attempts to repair system files.

They will need to be reinstalled. I try to avoid using restore points. If I do, they are very recent. It's best to try to fix the problem and only use old restore points in an emergency situation.

There was a recent pushed update (Microsoft retracted) that caused BSODs. I wonder if what you are experience is yet another side affect of this pushed update. Don't recall which one though.

This error indication of a problem with the software, which means that with the hardware is all right.
Please press start and there in the window enter cmd, then invade the cursor and press the right mouse button,
there select Run as administrator. Then a window will appear. There should enter: sfc /scannow and press enter.
Please pay attention that the letters sfc is space. After pressing the enter computer scan important files and convert them.
It may take about 30 minutes and should solve the problem. If not, then you will need to reinstall the operating system.

@Molly it seems to be with my make (Toshiba). I Googled it first and their forums came up straight away.
@Kit I don't use IE although I have it on my computer and my last windows update was before my restore.
@ Wallace I just did a scan (Had to schedule one when I turned back on,but this isn't new). I didn't see any errors. I couldn't defrag. I have just noticed at the top of this Error dialogue it has

I haven't got CC at the moment.
@ Conbagui, as I told kit I don't use IE and my last windows update didn't mess with anything. I don't let it run automatically either. Was wanting to do an update every day so I turned it off.
I will have a look closer at what you posted though later as I have 3 grandchildren here ATM

@GnuTux, I will need to look at that link . Can't just now, will later. Don't know that I have checked them. The answers I saw last night mentioned reinstalling software. When I did a restore I knew I was taking a chance. But it was an emergency! I didn't have a working gimp or G'MIC and wanted to restore the one's I'd had.

Ran SFC and at least one of the programs that wouldn't let me do something is working now (touch wood).
I cannot read the Log though.
Access is denied. I tried two routes to get at it.
Through the windows folder (It gave me the address) and also through cmd. I got the same message both times. BTW the 'original error hasn't popped up ....yet.
@ Kit, the last update I did was in April this year. I had no problems from it
Only since I tried to install the latest G'MIC and gimp have I had problems. Can't wait for 2.9 32 bit portable to come out. But I will be getting it put on a USB this time or a CD. Am not changing the one on my computer again.

Thanks Mike. I got a feeling I have seen this page. I have not seen this error today so maybe the sfc fixed it? I am not going to make any more changes unless something else happens. Thanks though
