PS .pat convert for Mac

Out of curiosity, is it a technical reason why there wouldn't be a thing like this for os x?

Those plugins on gimp.registry are the 3rd party plugins.
The author provided just the source code for this one and nobody has compiled it for Mac.

So is lack of authors to do so and not because of some technical reason. Perhaps the "technical reason" is that most Gimp authors are Windows based and don't program on Mac because they don't have Macs and/or don't have the technical know-how to program on Mac if they had one.

I can think of more non-technical reasons why but was just darned curious if there was a technical one.

The plug-in authors job is done, you need to compile the plug-in on a mac.

It's actually pretty complicated and involved to make plugins and even Gimp made available to Mac users. Hence you don't see such plugins bundled.

I usually bundle stuff that I think are important to photographers. If this plugin is important to you, contact me.

I think this would be a great addition to Gimp. Speaking for mac users, at this juncture we're able to use ps brushes and gradients, it would be great to be able to convert ps .pat files.

Can't you just save the patterns as jpg or png's? A lot of my patterns have that and they work fine, or do jpgs not work in Mac patterns?
