Just trying to emulate a woodstamp cut type render. Used all G'MIC presets. First, I ran Lylejkstencil (thanks again to David for keeping this preset for me). I then ran Anisotrophic filter (fake smudge). I followed by enhancing the contrasts before feed the result into b/w stamp.

Here's one that uses G'MIC b/w Hardsketch and blended in Amphisoft's Xylograph on the whites.

The first one seems to me to look the most like a typical woodcut.

I agree with you 2-ton. Just trying to get a more Wall Street Journal look w/ the second entry but of course, I failed. lol

I quite like the first one! The background contributes to the overall feel -- you look like you're in a tudor cottage.
