My next script will be called no-sleep-for-molly.py :)

Anyway, I finally got something I am happy with. thanks

@Graechan
All I do is use this dialogue in the settings you see here. I didn't set any brushes but I set the gradient I wanted then I left the gradient tool active :blend
Image

After that is done I go back to paths and merge all visible layers and they will turn red, then click off the eye and your gradient text should be there.

Did some improvements to path-inbetweener. It will now generate intermediate paths along a curve (another path...):

In the image above I'm also experimenting with partial transparency in stroke-visible-paths, which is not fit for human consumption right now. Availability of that feature will depend on the amount of rain next weekend :)

That looks like it could have some great potential.

Updated stroke-visible-paths to v0.4. Improvements:

1) progress indicator
2) opacity support, with a) a general opacity slider, and b) support for opacity in the gradient (both are used together).

This thread and the accompanying scripts have greatly simplified one of my current projects. Thank you very much for that. I do, however, have a suggestion for a minor improvement to the in-betweener script. Could you tweak it so that the starting path is not also available as an option for the ending path? That way goofs like me who overlook the setting in the drop-down menu don't have to sit and wait for the script to produce 220 duplicates of a path before erasing them and doing it over. Outside of that, the in-betweener and stroke-visible scripts work beautifully. I can't wait to finish this project so I can share it.

On a related note, is there a script to rotate the starting point of a closed path? I screwed up and started one of my paired paths at the wrong point. The only option I had was to delete one of the paths and start again at the right spot. It would have been very handy to have been able to tell a script, "rotate the starting point one node counter-clockwise".
